Central California Country Music Association Forms

The newly formed Central California Country Music Association (3CMA) announces it's

formation with a kick off show March 2nd at the historic Pine Street Saloon in downtown

Paso Robles.

The goal of the 3CMA will be seeking to promote and expand the growth of country music

via radio, venues, and events throughout Central California, as well as connecting artist and

writers to venues, musicians, co-writers and industry professionals.  3CMA will be hosting

open mics and songwriter rounds at various Central California venues throughout the year

fostering network opportunities for all levels of artist, writers and musicians culminating in an

annual 3CMA Music Festival and Awards Show.  More details and the new website will be

launched at the April 6, Pine Street Saloon salute to Merle Haggard Birthday Tribute at the

Pine Street Saloon.

The shows will be videoed and posted at PioneerTroubadours.com, which has been

online for 10 years plus, and takes folks on the road and backstage with music and history

of past and present Troubadours traveling the USA.  The 3CMA events will be posted on a

number of social networking sites...Certain selected nights will be designated for songwriter

only, and each night will be hosted by the, "only they know they are famous", Ken and Chris

The founding members of the 3CMA come from a long line of music history in Country Music.

President and founding member Chris Christensenís is a member of the Academy of

Country Music, past President of Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce, and his parents just so

happen to be the founding members of the Academy of Country Music, which started in Los

Angeles in 1964. As many know the ACM Awards show has been produced by Dick Clark

and his company for many years.

Ken McMeans another of the founding member has been in County Music wearing many hats

including being a songwriter and musician, as well as now owns a large country music booking

agency representing many National country stars. Chris and Ken are living in Moro Bay. The

third founding member is Benford Standley, who has produced shows and film projects with

the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson,

Hoyt Axton, Clint Eastwood and produces a number of digital media projects.

Monday Night March 2 nd the newly forming Central California Country Music Association will

kick off its monthly Ken and Chris Show and  Open Mic on the first Monday of the month each

month at the historic Pine Street Saloon in Paso Robles Central California. Show starts at 9pm

with musicians from Central California and off the road.  The March 2nd show with feature per-

formances with Ken McMeans, Callie Twisselman, , Judge Mike,  Matthias Clark  Rod

Norris and Christine Rogers.

The Pine Street Saloon has a great country music history itself, going back to the 1850tys and

through the 1880tys when Jesse James and his brother Frank were hanging in the streets of

Paso Robles. The Saloon has live music to this day, and Merle Haggard remembers hanging

out there some in his Bakersfield days.  The Saloon is the oldest building in downtown Paso

Robles, and as story tells it and rumors has it, the place is haunted...
